Board of Public Works Agenda and Meeting Information

Meeting Attendance

Meetings are open to the public. View the online meeting schedule for upcoming meeting dates.

Meetings are currently held in the Governor’s Reception Room, 2nd floor, State House, Annapolis. Occasionally, the meeting is held at the Louis L. Goldstein Treasury Building. The location is noted on the meeting schedule and agendas page. Get meeting and parking directions.

A picture ID is required for entrance to the Legislative Office Building and the Treasury Building.

Agenda

At each meeting, the Board of Public Works considers three Agendas:

  • the Secretary's Agenda,
  • the Department of General Services Agenda, and
  • the Department of Transportation Agenda.

The Secretary's Agenda itself comprises:

  • the main Secretary's Agenda,
  • Supplement A: Department of Natural Resources Real Property,
  • Supplement B: Department of Budget & Management,
  • Supplement C: University System,
  • Supplement D: Department of Information Technology, and
  • the Appendix: Emergency Procurements.

In each Agenda are numerous Items, each Item representing a proposed action. Each Item is numbered within the Agenda.

Current Meeting Agendas - Summaries

Approximately one week before a meeting, the Board staff prepares a Summary of the Items to be considered. The Summary is posted at Meeting Schedule and Advanced Meeting Agendas the Thursday before the meeting. After the Agenda has been prepared, agencies may still revise Items or add Items. On the Monday before the meeting, the Web site is updated to indicate revised and supplemental Items. PLEASE NOTE: There may be late Items that are hand carried to the meeting and which, by their nature, do not appear on the Summary.

Discussion of Agenda Items

At the meeting, a Board member may call any Item that requires explanation or further discussion (not all Items are discussed). The members may take the Items in the order as seen in the Summary or in any order they deem appropriate.

Speakers at Board of Public Works Meetings

If you wish to speak in support or opposition to an Item before the Board please notify the Office of the Executive Secretary at 410-260-7335. Your name will be placed on a list that is given to the Board members before the meeting. Hearing from speakers is at the discretion of the Board members. Speakers are urged to keep their remarks succinct and to the point. Groups are asked to designate one spokesperson.

Record of Board Actions

On the day following the Board meeting a report of the actions taken is posted to the meeting schedule and agendas. This report also shows if an Item was discussed.
